LONDON TOPOGRAPHICAL POSTCARDS

Crystal Palace, from Italian Terrace. Crystal Palace, showing Italian and Upper Terraces. General View of Crystal Palace, and Canadian Building.

Crystal Palace was constructed of iron and glass in Upper Norwood in 1854. The building housed many exhibitions showing the achievements of the Victorian age. The building was destroyed by fire on 30th November 1936. It was never rebuilt.
