17th/21st Lancers

The 17th was raised in 1759 as Light Dragoons, and converted to Lancers in 1824. The 21st was raised in 1760 as Light Dragoons but disbanded in 1763. In 1858 3rd Bengal Became 21st Light Dragoons and later re-titled as 21st Hussars in 1863. in 1897 they became Lancers and amalgamated with the 17th in 1922. The Regiment's badge, the Death's Head 'or Glory', has earned them the nickname 'The Death or Glory Boys'
