"Thanks for letter received. I am pressed for want of time so
you must excuse me for this once as far as a letter is concerned. Miss
W. is still with us. Her advent has produced a deal of irritation among
us all, for which she cannot be directly blamed. I am afraid the gap
between myself and Miss W. must expand wider and wider till we come to
separate amicably or otherwise. She is a good girl in her way but not
quite my sort. The above will no doubt give you enough food for thought
till you hear from me again. Still believe that everything happens for
