"Nuwara Eliya is the Sanitorium of Ceylon & during the winter months water has been known to freeze, although snows are unknown. When a boy of about 9 I stayed here for about a week on my way to school but have not visited it since. It has grown considerably in the interval & is covered with a light railway."
